What is a Bowrider?
While browsing boats, you’ll come across many different types of pontoons. You may wonder what is a bowrider? Bowriders offer more space with an open bow design and a V-shaped hull. Here’s what to know to decide if it’s the right kind of pontoon boat for you.
Open Bow Boats
Open bow boats give you more space for passengers and any gear you want to bring aboard. Bowriders are also easy to drive and provide a smooth ride through the water.
More Seating in Bow
The bow seating area is part of what makes bowriders unique. Passengers in the bow get to feel the wind in their hair and take in the beautiful scenery while sitting closer to the water. It’s the perfect spot for sunbathing, chatting with friends, or enjoying an exhilarating cruise.
V-Shaped Hull
The V-shaped hull on Bennington bowriders was designed to give you a smooth ride as you glide through the water. The design also gives you more in-floor storage for your life jackets, watersports equipment, and more.
Sterndrive or Outboard Motor
An important aspect of any pontoon boat is the motor. You can customize your Bennington to select which high-performance outboard motor is best for your individual needs. Or, you can opt for a sterndrive, a combination of an inboard engine and an outboard unit. Take a look at our pontoon boat customization options.
Bowrider Boat Uses
With their ability to cut through the water and provide plenty of space for guests on board, bowrider boats are versatile boats ideal for cruising, entertainment, watersports, and an overall good time.
Cruising
Bowriders are wonderful for cruising and fishing. It’s easy and comfortable to cast off of the bow, and fishing pontoons are made with rod lockers, trolling motor gate, a stern fish station with a livewell, and more that makes fishing a breeze.
Entertaining
With plenty of seating and storage, you can entertain friends and family all day long on your bowrider. For entertainment pontoons, the Quad Bench or Swingback floor plans are available. Each layout maximizes seating capacity and storage. Plus, with more seating in the bow, there are plenty of spaces for quality time and conversations.
Watersports
Bowriders are sporty and ideal for a day full of watersports like tubing, wakeboarding, and waterskiing. Sport pontoons like bowriders have the power and stability to tow your most adventurous passengers as they enjoy the thrill of watersports.
